How this calculator works
The answer does not change between Quick and Detailed. This is the professional finance underneath it — the formula, assumptions and mechanics you can inspect when you want the extra detail.
Duty uses the customs value entered
Duty = customs value entered per unit × applicable duty rate. The calculator does not assume FOB, CIF or another customs valuation basis because the correct base depends on jurisdiction, classification, origin and transaction terms.
Total landed cost
Add purchase cost, inbound freight, duty, clearance fees, insurance, inbound packaging and any other landed cost intentionally entered. Include only costs that belong in the chosen landed-cost or inventory-cost basis.
