Terms of use

MarginKoala provides calculators, business-decision tools, drafting features and Koala-powered explanations designed to help people understand commercial scenarios. Outputs are estimates based on the information and assumptions supplied.

MarginKoala does not replace accounting, tax, legal, financial, employment or other professional advice. You are responsible for checking assumptions, local rules and important decisions before acting on an output. AI-generated drafts should be reviewed before they are sent or relied on.

Keep your sign-in details secure and provide accurate account information. You are responsible for activity under your account unless you promptly report unauthorised access. Team owners are responsible for the people they invite and the seats they manage.

Paid plans renew on the billing interval shown at checkout until renewal is stopped. MarginKoala billing uses Stripe. A Stripe subscription can be cancelled or resumed from the MarginKoala Billing page, and eligible billing details can be managed in Stripe's secure portal. Prices, currency, seat quantity and billing cadence are shown before purchase.

PayPal is not a MarginKoala billing method. If enabled, it is a read-only connector for business payment and settlement data.

Paid access is for normal human business use. You must not automate abusive traffic, scrape the service at scale, use MarginKoala to send spam, probe security controls, share access outside the plan you bought, or use the service unlawfully. We may rate-limit or suspend abusive activity to protect customers and service costs.

You keep ownership of the business information and content you submit. You give MarginKoala permission to process it only as needed to provide, secure and support the features you request. Do not submit content you do not have the right to use or share.

Koala-powered requests can be processed through Vercel AI Gateway, a configured model provider and, when enabled, a direct OpenAI fallback. A question that needs current evidence can also be sent to Tavily or Perplexity for search. Optional business connections can be operated through Rutter or Nango, or through Basiq for Australian CDR/Open Banking. The applicable third-party terms also govern those services.

Initial connectors are read-only and must not be used to move money, issue refunds, change prices or budgets, alter payroll or banking data, or otherwise modify a source system. Connected-source results and AI/research outputs can be incomplete, delayed or wrong, so material decisions still need review against the original source.

Koala attachments are stored for up to 30 days and then deleted by the retention job. Deleting a file, its conversation or the account removes the associated attachment record earlier. Saved conversations, calculations, decisions and connected-data records do not share that 30-day period and remain until removed through an applicable product or account control.

We aim to keep MarginKoala reliable, but third-party providers, maintenance and software defects can interrupt features. Features, provider availability and supported connectors can change as the product and third-party services change.

To the extent permitted by law, MarginKoala is provided without a guarantee that every calculation, model-generated statement or business outcome will be correct for your circumstances. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

You can stop using MarginKoala at any time and can stop future subscription renewal through the Stripe billing controls. An account-deletion request cannot complete until any owned Business organisation is transferred or closed and connector credentials are revoked. We may restrict or terminate accounts used for fraud, abuse, security attacks or serious breaches of these terms.
