Finance / industry term: AOV — Average Order Value

Use the same scope and period as converted visitors below.

Count visitors/sessions with an order event, not total orders if one visitor can order more than once.

Koala's Calculated Result
Traffic required if the entered AOV and conversion rate hold.

This is deterministic target algebra from the inputs. It does not predict that buying or attracting this traffic will preserve conversion rate or AOV.

Frequently asked questions

What does "traffic required" answer?

It reverse-solves the session volume implied by the revenue target, average order value and conversion-rate scenario you enter. Required conversions = target revenue ÷ AOV, then required sessions = required conversions ÷ conversion rate.

Traffic Required

Should I use sessions or unique visitors?

Use the denominator that matches the conversion rate you are supplying. If conversion is orders per session, use sessions; if you deliberately model orders per unique visitor, use unique visitors throughout. Do not mix denominators between the rate and the traffic target.

Traffic Required

How does it tie to the ad budget?

Traffic required is not an ad-budget forecast by itself. If the required sessions are paid clicks and you have a CPC scenario for the same channel, a simple paid-click spend scenario is required sessions × CPC. If you use CPM, you also need a matched relationship from impressions to visits or clicks; do not mix funnel definitions.

Traffic Required

What if my conversion rate moves?

Required traffic moves inversely with the conversion-rate scenario: holding the revenue target and AOV constant, a lower conversion rate requires more sessions and a higher rate requires fewer. Treat each rate as a scenario unless you have evidence for a forecast.
